Nigerian journalist fights Jurgen Klopp for labeling Afcon ‘a little tournament’

A Nigerian sports journalist, Osasuo Obayiuwana, popularly known as OJB, has condemned Liverpool’s head coach, Jurgen Klopp, for calling the African Cup of Nations a “little tournament”.

OJB – a multiple awards winning journalist – engaged in a bitter argument with Klopp during a press conference.

He accused Klopp of belittling both the Afcon and the continent’s football governing body, CAF.

AFCON is the biggest football tournament in Africa.

OJB during the press conference, asked Klopp to render an unqualified apology for referring to the Afcon as a little tournament.

He told the versatile German football manager that “I thinks it’s an insult to the players, to the nations, to the people of the continent and I think you owe us an apology!”

journalist’s request, saying ” I didn’t mean it like that, common, so I was not even close to it being the idea in my mind that I want to talk about the African Cup of Nations as a “little tournament” or the continent of Africa a little continent. “
